Description
A flavor-packed skillet chicken recipe inspired by Texas Roadhouse’s iconic cinnamon honey butter — crispy seared chicken basted in a sweet, buttery glaze for a restaurant-style dinner at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
- 1 stick salted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
Instructions
- Whip softened butter, honey, powdered sugar, and cinnamon until light and fluffy. Set aside.
- Pat chicken dry and season both sides with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Let sit 10 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden.
- Lower heat to medium-low. Add 2 tablespoons prepared cinnamon honey butter. Baste chicken as it melts for 2–3 minutes.
- Cook until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Top with an extra dollop of cinnamon butter before serving hot.
Notes
For best results, use chicken thighs for juiciness and flavor. Always baste on medium-low heat to avoid burning the butter.
