- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup smoked almonds (lightly chopped)
- ½ tsp smoked sea salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: ½ cup dark or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Heat until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and immediately pour onto the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle smoked almonds and sea salt over the toffee.
- Optional: Add chocolate chips on top, let them melt, then spread evenly.
- Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces.
Notes
Use a candy thermometer for accuracy. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks. For a spicy twist, add a pinch of cayenne.
