Instructions

  3. Stir to evenly coat the apples with the spices and sugars.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hours until apples are deeply caramelized and soft.
  5. Use an immersion blender to puree the apple mixture until smooth (or blend in batches using a regular blender).
  6. Return the puree to the slow cooker and cook uncovered for an additional 1 hour to thicken.
  7. Let cool, then store in clean, airtight jars in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
