Description

An Iced Chai Latte is a refreshing drink made with spiced black tea, creamy milk, and ice. Infused with cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger, this chilled version of the traditional Indian chai is soothing, aromatic, and perfect for warm days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 black tea bags or 2 tbsp loose black tea
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 tbsp honey (or sweetener of choice)
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Optional: vanilla extract, almond extract, nutmeg, star anise

Instructions

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, remove from heat, and steep the tea bags or loose tea for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags or infuser.
  2. Let the tea cool to room temperature.
  3. Stir in cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves. Mix well.
  4. Add honey (or preferred sweetener) and stir until dissolved.
  5. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  6. Pour the spiced tea mixture over the ice, filling the glass halfway.
  7. Slowly pour in the milk to create a layered effect.
  8. Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and enjoy!

Notes

For stronger flavor, use freshly ground spices or infuse whole spices in the tea. Let the tea cool fully before adding milk to prevent curdling. Adjust sweetness and spice levels to your taste.
