- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, olive oil, salt, and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet and stretch it to fit.
- In a small bowl, mix garlic, oregano, black pepper, and half of the parmesan cheese.
- Spread the garlic mixture over the dough.
- Sprinkle the remaining parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a softer bread, cover it while it rises.
- Use fresh herbs for added flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
