- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (plus extra for dusting)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease or line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
- Mix 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over batter.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean or with moist crumbs.
- Cool 10–15 minutes on a wire rack, then cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Avoid overmixing for the best chewy texture. Store bars in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
