Description

Blueberry cinnamon rolls are a fluffy, fruity twist on the classic treat, combining juicy blueberries with warm cinnamon and sweet icing for a delightful bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, and eggs. Stir to combine.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead dough on floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  5. In a bowl, mix blueberries, brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter to make the filling.
  6. Punch down dough, roll out into a rectangle ¼ inch thick.
  7. Spread blueberry filling evenly over dough, leaving a border around edges.
  8. Roll tightly from one long side into a log. Pinch seam to seal.
  9. Cut into 12 equal rolls and place in greased baking dish. Let rise 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make icing. Drizzle over warm rolls.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy the fruity, cinnamon-filled delight!

Notes

For best results, let the dough rise fully and avoid overfilling with blueberries to prevent sogginess.
