Delicious baklava cookie bars with a rich nut filling.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups mixed nuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix well.
- Press half the mixture into a greased baking pan.
- In another bowl, combine nuts and cinnamon; sprinkle over the dough.
- Top with the remaining dough mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine honey and water; bring to a boil.
- Pour honey mixture over baked bars; let cool before cutting.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Best served at room temperature.
- You can use any combination of nuts you prefer.
