A delightful fusion of creamy cheesecake and nutty, flaky baklava, wrapped in golden phyllo dough and drizzled with sweet honey syrup. Perfect for impressing guests or treating yourself!

- 1 package of phyllo dough (about 16 oz), thawed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, or almonds), finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for nut mixture)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Carefully unroll the thawed phyllo sheets and cover with a damp cloth to prevent drying.
- Lightly butter a baking sheet. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough and brush with melted butter. Repeat layering 5–6 sheets, buttering each.
- In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Add vanilla, eggs, and sour cream. Mix until combined.
- In a small bowl, mix chopped nuts, cinnamon, and 1/4 cup sugar.
- Spread cheesecake mixture over phyllo layers. Sprinkle nut mixture on top.
- Fold edges of phyllo over filling. Cut into squares or rectangles as desired.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake cookies on a parchment-lined sheet for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
- While baking, combine honey, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove cookies from oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle warm honey syrup over the top.
Notes
Keep phyllo covered while working. Don’t overmix cheesecake filling. Use a light hand with the butter. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days or refrigerated for longer freshness.
