Description
Apple Pie Egg Rolls combine everything you love about classic American apple pie with the crisp, flaky texture of traditional egg rolls. It’s the ultimate fusion dessert—crispy on the outside, warm and cinnamon-sweet on the inside.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- 10–12 egg roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Optional: caramel sauce, chopped pecans, raisins, or pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
- Peel and dice the apples into 1/4-inch cubes.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Cook 5–7 minutes until softened.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry. Cook 2 more minutes until thickened. Let cool.
- Place egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape. Spoon 2–3 tbsp filling near the center.
- Fold bottom corner over filling, then fold in sides. Roll up and seal the edge with water or flour paste.
- Heat oil to 350°F (177°C) in a skillet. Fry rolls 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Optional: Roll in cinnamon sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
Notes
Let the filling cool completely before wrapping to avoid soggy or burst wrappers. For a lighter version, bake at 400°F for 15–18 minutes or air fry at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
